The R.I.C.S. Homebuyers
Report is the most commonly produced survey report, being ideally suited
to small or medium sized residential properties, such as those illustrated
on this page. It is produced on a pre-formatted document approximatley
nine pages long, and laid out in easily understood sections. The first
main section of the report deals specifically with structural movement,
timber defects, dampness and insulation.
The main objective
is to assess whether or not the property is a reasonable purchase at the
agreed price.
The report will tend
to focus on essentials, particularly any defects which are urgent or significant,
and might have an effect on value. It will include much other usefull
information, such as items which should be checked out by your legal advisor.
The Homebuyers Report
will include a carefully researched opinion on value, plus an insurance
re-instatement valuation.
Prices start at £275
plus vat, dependent on the age, type and value of the property concerned.
